This stunning, tall, soda fired vase is a showstopper! Thrown on the potter’s wheel with a narrow neck that gives is this striking silhouette, Kristen then deeply carved and decorated it with colored porcelain slips before its bisque firing (when “clay” transforms to “ceramic”). After bisque, the interior was glazed with this beautiful turquoise and a little more was applied to parts of the carved designs. Then it was loaded into the soda kiln for an atmospheric firing that gave it these unique surface colors, interesting sheen variations, and highlighted the selectively applied glazes. This vase is one of a kind art on your table. You could also put flowers in it. ;)
5.5”w, x 8.5” h, opening is .75”
